So, a bit of time has gone by, things are broken in.
Did some room corrections with the parametric on the amp.
I must say these things sound amazing. I'm still dumbfounded as to how much bottom end they have, and they play loud effortlessly.

Thanks for the kind words, just glad that you enjoy them- I still haven't figured out a better moderate cost speaker. Still thinking about it from time to time, but those drivers are classics- and the crossover technology is basically the same as what I use in the Ardents and Isiris, but in a quasi-series/parallel arrangement that has a very easy impedance curve to drive, and deals with the specific issues of the RS180 with minimum number of components.the AudioWorx

I've seen several "slot loaded" subs lately, or at least designs described as slot loaded. An example is the 8-inch offering from av123. Many of these designs are down firing, and a partition is placed a few inches away from the face of the sub, loading the front wave; an opening around the... -

I'm trying to design a dual ported sub into the base of an entertainment center. I modeled everything in WinISD, but when I reduce the enclosure volume by the port volume, the port length has to change to get the tuning, which changes the enclosure volume again. So I'm stuck in a cat and mouse trying... -
If I compare a 2" (Area of 3.14) ROUND PORT x 8" long . Then build a SLOT PORT of 3.14 "x 1" (same area as 2" round) .
