Pretty sure the dip is throat related. I have some ideas that may fail miserably, but may not.

      CJD,

I'm very curious to see how/if you like the Neo10. Greg obviously likes his, as does Twest820. Off to design my H baffles after the Packer game.

Throat looks similar and the flushness is worse than the pics I remember, but that's not really saying much.

Shouldn't be hard to fix by changing out the toroids. Antek supposedly makes good stuff---have a friend using their trafos in tube amp supplies---though I haven't tried it out personally yet.

Full disclosure: I have eight brand new, never used Antek AN-1220s sitting in my living room, six or seven of which I'll likely never use due to changes in project direction. Probably pick up a couple AN-0215s instead.

They're commercial amps, and not necessarily what I really want to have there, but they're what I have that can handle the impedance. Outlaw monoblocks.

I have plans to replace them, but for all things expensive there is a time (and a budget).

I have some hefty sized Avel trafo's in the basement, unused...

Hmm, a single BOM around USD 115 should comfortably pay for a decent trafo even in fairly small volumes. Are the rectifier diodes bypassed with snubber caps?

twest: which amp? The Outlaws? No clue. For now, that's not something I'm going to worry about.

On to other things... Neo10's have arrived. They're kinda cute.

Unrelated, but RS150-8 and RS180-8's have also arrived...

Yes, Outlaws. Not my problem, just curious.

Yeah, I've not opened them up or anything adventurous. They're 1U and quite snugly packed.
