So, under the tree this year was a box from CSS. My fiance has heard me talking about a new set of speakers for a while, and picked up the kits for Christmas.
It's going to be a little while before they get built, as we've just purchased our first house and the workbench isn't built yet... but I've got some questions about building a 5.1 with these as the fronts and a center.
The kit is comprised of the following drivers per speaker:
- 2 WR125S XBL^2 mid woofers
- 1 Hi Vi SS 1 II tweeters
I'm not sure if I should post the components used in the crossovers or not, but I'm going to assume it's not going to be nearly efficient if I build a 3rd to use it as a horizontal center.
I'd like some feedback on this idea. I need a center chanel, and since CSS is local to me (they're about 15min away), I'd love to use speakers readily availible to me here.
Alternatively, I could build something using a pair of the FR125S and no crossover.
Thoughts? Recomendations?
Pics and details to follow, as time permits.
