What's the difference if tweeter is facing in or out

What is the big difference if the tweeter is on the outside or the inside of the listening position. I just moved my cabinets back in and the tweeters are on the outside.

I wouldn't ask if they were only a couple pounds but at they weigh if I don't have to move them, I don't want to.

    Thanks
    Mike

You seem to have decent spacing on the speaker cabinets and listen at a fair distance from them, and the tweeter crossover frequency is relatively low... Especially if you have some felt on the fronts (I can't remember if you did that), then I wouldn't expect a huge difference one way or another. Can you hear a difference?

      Thanks Joe.

I do have them 11' apart and sit roughly 11' back.
Yes, I do have felt on the front although I removed it during the move.
I finally finished hooking up all the audio and video equipment no mre than 10minutes ago, as well as loading the drivers back in their respective places. I just don't think 2:45 in the morning is the time to test them out.

I believe it has a lot to do with diffraction issues and baffle launch, and how your speaker was designed to be listened to.

Common wisdom says tweeters have to be on the inside. But, my last project was designed to be listened to with the tweeters on the outside.

For the broadest possible coverage from any seating position between the speakers, you want the tweeters to the outside.

Off-axis response is *better* to the "wide" side of the baffle.

I did this with my MTM's at the DIY show a couple of years ago. At some point some snooty audiophiles sat down to do a comparison between a normal CD and one with "noise removed" and asked me why. In this case, it was a simple answer: There was a large crowd between the speakers, and no walls nearby on the sides. To give everyone the flattest response, tweeters to the outside. The side note is, yeah - noise was reduced, but so were all room cues! (it was a classical piece). Sounded lifeless. I also have measurements of the MTM on the project page illustrating this.

            outside opinion

Wouldn't tweets to the outside do more to align ACs also?
