    My sisters Natalie P's

These speakers have actually been playing for about seven months now but I haven't felt the urge to upload pics until now. ops:

My sister did all the woodworking, she's learning to be a carpenter, and I did the rest. The material is 8 sheets of 3mm MDF glued together making it roughly 1" thick. It is VERY dead compared to a normal 1" MDF sheet. The crossovers are placed in the bottom that is removable which makes it easy to convert to a Modula MTM should the need ever occur. The veneer is american walnut.

I must say that they sound pretty darn good, especially when thinking about the cost. The only thing I've heard them complain about is the lack of low frequency omph, but that may be a good thing maybe we could build a RSS15 sub to accompany them? :P :B

Is that a veneer? Or a laminate or something?

Those look terrific. I also have NatP's, the stand version (not floorstanding), and they do lack a little oomph like you say at the low end. But I have a nice DIY sub to compensate. Have fun building the sub. :T

Oh, one more thing. What do you have powering those??

Did you increase box size over the PE box volume?

              They look great!

Great looking work, now you know why I build my own laminated panels!

Did you augment the enclosure volume (55-60 liters) and adjust the port tuning? That helps on the low end oomph, but I'm sure a sub would be even better, reduce the strain on the midwoofers at higher SPL.

She looks like she'll be a great carpenter with that kind of workmanship! :T

Thanks for all the kind word guys! ;x(

subynube: She has a Denon integrated amp, don't remember the model. It's around 120W 8ohm and pretty heavy so there should be plenty of juice in 4 ohm... :B

cjd, JonMarsh: If I remember correctly they're just shy of 55 liters and the port is a 3" diameter adjusted accordingly.

Now I just wish she could follow me to the states so she could help ME with boxes (or rather panels) too! :B

                        awesome, love the veneer.

What is the best way to laminate multiple layers of MDF without a press?

In my experience you need a lot of clamps, but I got never the quality of a real press.

Where did you get the veneer? The speakers look fantastic.

Jed: She made the boxes at her school so she probably had a press.

sprint_9: The boxes are made in Sweden and I don't know where she got the veneer, but it sure looks good!

Thanks again for all the kind words.

                                I believe Jon once recommended plitron transformers . . . :W

I used eight boxes of floor tiles topped with dumbbells for the arvo panels . . .

There ya go! Unfortunately, flux capacitors are of no use in laminating MDF. You need something.... heavy.

                                                Ronald Reagan, the actor? :B

Hmmm or maybe "Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor?" :P

-Your sister did a wonderful job with the wood, I am extra impressed with the bottoms. I am dreading putting bottoms on mine, Im not sure why but removeable bottoms really intimidate me.

I am surprised about a lack of Oomph with them being ported, I am doing a pair of BAmtm floorstanders and they put out to much IMO. (however I do need to put more batting inside)

Ps. Supersize me was hilarious (and a little depressing) you should definately watch it.
