    Need A Quick Answer Please!!!!

    Hi all.
Sorry for sounding so commanding. :T

When routing the depth of a recess for a driver, should the top edge of the basket be flush with the front of the baffle?

    or

Should it be the top of the surround be flush with the baffle?

First one sounds right but I would just like to make sure.

    Thanks in advance. ;x( ;x( ;x( ;x( ;x(

Just make the basket flush and you will be good to go.

I assume you also need to compensate for the gasket tape you might put on the baffle?

I usually give a bit of extra for this, but not a lot. The good stuff usually squishes down to pretty much nothing. Maybe the thickness of a sheet of paper or two.

And, the most critical driver to flush-mount is the tweeter, which doesn't have a surround. But always frame flush to the face.
