    HT Buildout

Building out a new HT in an attic space. I'll document the build here, as well as equipment selection. Advice and suggestions welcome!

Plan is based mainly around bang-for-the-buck:

    - 12x17 with the screen on the long wall (mainly due to WAF), and approximately 2,000 ft3
    - 120" dia 16:9 screen - Seymour XD acoustically transparent
    - BenQ 2050
    - Denon AVR-X1300W
    - LCR - DIY flat pack TBD (considering HTM-6, Aviatrix, etc.) may try the Elac B6/C5, but really want to do a DIY.
    - Surround/ATMOS - TBD (most likely Volt-6)
    - Sub - TBD (considering 2 sealed Datyton RS 12", or Eminence Lab12) placed behind screen

Maybe build your speakers and sub(s) first, which by the time you finish a new model projector may be available, or else this one at reduced cost. YMMV... Sounds like a nice spacial plan.

      Photos of Samsung DVD-HD1000
      by Lex
Here's my "new" DVD player, the Samsung DVD-HD1000 40 pounds of joy. It's actually slightly used, but showed no real signs of it. New used, we'll call it.

reprint of specs from other post:

      by ironcorn
      Hi,
After a long internet search, I decided to purchase a set of Sound Anchor stands for my rear B&W 803S speakers. I’m posting these photos because during my search for plinths, I found very few good photos of the actual product I was trying to research, to include even on the SA website....

Example Screen Shots of C1 TFT Display
      by Chris D
As promised, I took some pictures of my C1 TFT display screen. Please excuse the blurriness on the close-ups. These are actually the first screen shots I've ever tried to take of anything. It was really interesting to me how light levels showed up COMPLETELY different in the pictures from what they...

      Practical FPTV Screen size..?
      by Trevor Schell
      Hi!,
I was just measuring up the size of screen I would go with.
The two chioces I had are as follows.

      92"Diagnol (45"x80")
      106" Diagnol (52"x92")

Of course my first choice is the 106". This will actually completely...

Please help me put this to rest! (with photos)
      by GeneTheMachine
I've been looking to get a big "TV" for our new (to us) house since a month ago when we moved in. I narrowed it down to the 51" Toshiba 51H84 but haven't been able to pull the trigger because I started thinking of the advantages of front projection. I'm so in love with the idea now but...
