Promedia in the ditch..

Well,

I still can't get my Promedia 4.1 system to work.
I thought originally that I had maybe defected my soundcard. So I picked up a new Live 5.1 card from SoundBlaster. Installed everything last night and still no sound except for some tinny distortion..Almost like the speakers are blown or something,,However it wasn't me that blew them.

At the very start I could not get the master speaker to show a green light which indicates that it is on. I only had the red light that would seem to work. Now the green light does work like it should but that's about it.

They are going back for an exchange.
These ones were not plug and play.

Anything else I should check though.

Trev, if your old speakers work, then ther must definitely be something wrong with the PM's.

Unless you wired them wrong at the start, they must have been defective.

If your old speakers don't work either, try adjusting some of the SBL's settings in the mixer. Make sure the volume levels are at least set to mid point, and that the CD Digital & CD Audio is selected.

If you are not getting power to the speaker, maybe you have a faulty cord that runs from the sub to the speaker.

Bummer Trev! I have no clue, not being there, but Bing's guidance rules anyway, cause he and Jon are super bits compared to me hardware wise.

I will take them back to KK and get a replacement set.

I have bad luck with this stuff sometimes.
