Lee, that first link is far fetched and from a source I would call likely unreliable (disclosure.tv? Conspiracy theory much?) the second one doesn't mention anything about Microsoft copying anything from your hard drive. They just state it's sending some type of data. Anonymous usage data has been collected by many forms of software you likely use every day and has been done that way for years now. Even by Windows. The type of data they generally collect is likely nothing that you would even be concerned about and certainly isn't your pictures, photos, music, videos etc. All that stuff would be eating up gigantic portions of servers all over the place, not to mention giant spikes in end users bandwidth usage that many people would notice and likely sue them over as it's not something they'd get away with even if it WERE in the EULA.

To take it a step further, even if they had some super advanced server farm with infinite space and some magical way to extract your files from thin air without using your bandwidth, what would they do with all that data? Who would be looking at it or processing it? Tis the problem often with conspiracy theories, lack of motive.-Chuck- Bottom
