Waiting in line for an iPhone(copyright Apple)

I want to make sure I don't get sued for referencing the phone without their copyright.

Can you guys believe people are waiting in line for the release of this phone? Some people are even paying people to stand in line for the, lol.

I find it hard to believe that a phone could ignite that kind of excitement with being first to own one unless it was the first smart phone ever. Can you?

Just curious why the huge attention to something now 5 generations old (or more)...

I like my illegal Samsung Android myself. Well, it was ruled in violation of Apple patents anyway.

Yeah, I've never waited in line for anything on the first day it's available.
It's cool ideally to be the 1st one on the block to get a new toy.
But I usually wait until the initial production bugs of a new model are worked out, and the price has dropped. I have the iPhone 4S and iPad2, but I'm waiting until the iPhone 5 comes out and is well past it's initial demand, and same goes for the iPad4.

I will be upgrading to iOS6, but probably in a week or two.

I used to be all into Apple products, but I'm so over them I also enjoy my Android devices a lot more then I did iOS.

Samsung doesn't get it either. I don't blame them.

I wouldn't wait in line for one. I've owned every model and I'll get the new one after the madness dies down.

I did however upgrade to IOS6 and it seems nicely polished. Some details here and there are pretty nice. I like the new Maps , Picture cloud settings and Email options. Nicely done.

Yeah, I'm liking iOS 6. For the last 3 years or so, I've updated my iPhone every time a new model came out, and trickled the other versions down to my other family members. Not sure if I'll update to the iPhone 5 or not. I haven't placed an order yet.

I was at a mall here in Montreal yesterday and looked at people lining up in front of the Apple store to get in and shook my head. I just don't get it personally. People can be just plain stupid. Period. Baffles the mind........

I like the iPad pretty well so far, except for the keyboard. Love the MacBook Pro except for the price. Don't care for anything else Apple at all, including the OS. M

The iPad is identical to the iPod touch really just bigger. And having used iPhones and iPod touches before I still like my android tablet better. I used an iPhone 4s and 5 the other day and my phone and my tablet just feel so much better as far as interface and smoothness of operation.

I preordered the iPhone 5 online from Verizon the week before release, and it arrived by FedEx Friday morning. No need to wait in line anywhere. I hate waiting in lines, much less overnight. The 5 is much faster than the iPhone 4 from which I upgraded. Its thinner and lighter, which I like. I wish they had made the screen wider, not just longer but I can live with it. The camera seems better. I've only played around with it a little.

I hate the Apple maps app, glitches or not. Google Maps was much better. Apple needs to man up and let customers have Google Maps back. Forget the rivalry with Google. In the meantime, iOS 6 users can still have Google Maps on their phone, it will just not be native but run in the browser. Start Safari and go to Googlemaps.com. You will get a pop-up asking if you want to create a shortcut on the homescreen. Select yes, and voila, you have Google Maps on your phone.

                                  Those are funny pics, guys.

I tried out Apple maps for directions while I was travelling in Florida last week. In general, it was actually more accurate than my primary navigation app program, which is Navigon. I also liked that I could use it with Siri, just saying, "take me to the Hyatt Regency hotel in Tampa, Florida", instead of having to poke through various menus. There are even a few features that are better than Navigon. But then there's others that are better in Navigon. Of course, it's HUGE that the new map feature is completely free. I think I paid $60 for my Navigon app many years ago.

I used the new maps app yesterday while we were driving from Indy to Bloomington. Seemed to work ok but I definitely liked the google one better.

Maybe you guys figured out Google maps better but for me it would give graphical instructions you had to page through. I didn't find it useful for driving navigation. The new maps give real-time turn-by-turn instructions just like a GPS navigation program.

There is a button that says Navigate that you click instead of the Directions button and it'll give you the navigation software.
