Now that I can stream music from my laptop with the PS3 I am organizing all the mp3 files on my computer. I have the files named the way I want but for some reason windows media player seems to be renaming the actual file names (not just the name in the library). I spent hours the other day making sure all files were in the same naming format only to have WMP change some. How do I get it to stop doing that and why is it even doing in the first place (and why just some of the files)? I didnt even use WMP to rip the music from CD (used musicmatch) so I am stunned and mad that it changed some of the file names.

I have also found Windows Media Player will go online to check if you have the "rights" to your stored music-and delete the songs it deems should not be in your possession. I would use different software altogether.Lee

Regardless if you pick another program or not, if you want to correct your filenames in one shot, use a program called Tag & Rename. It works great. You can have it rename all your files using the info in the ID3 tag, or vice versa.B&W 804S/Velodyne SPL-1000R/Anthem MRX720- Bottom

So I added the 70ES to make it 400 CDs, then ran out there too! :M
So I am thinking of getting a Windows Media Center PC, burn all the discs using WMA...-
