Desktop PC needed?

Hello All,

My parents (late 50's) want a computer for internet & word processing only. What & where should I shop? We are from the Philly area (19027).

How much do they want to spend? For the intended use, a Dell or Gateway would work well. That way they will get support.

For anything else, I'd go for a custom (self) built box.

I have many, too many computers, in every room, all kinds.
I also set up my Mom, brother, friends and neighbors.
Good deals on good computers are everywhere, BestBuy, Office Whatever, CompUS, I wouldn't be surprised to see them at the grocery store.
I would recommend a small computer and a large LCD screen with a really good pointing device. Eye sight and not so steady hands may be a factor.
Also remember that when you help anyone with a computer, you become " the guy",
or in your case the girl. lol

I'm going to Circuit City & Best Buys today. Hopefully I'll find a good "Open Boxed" computer package under $500. Thanks arneson for the "eye" tip.
