They may be the "IP leader" but I don't think what they are doing it HD over IP. It looks to me like a switcher with built in component to UTP converters. Hell, we've been sending HD over CAT5 for a few years now.

If it was IP based why not 1 output that goes to a standard switch, why do you need to put the appropriate attenuator card in for different lengths (as long as it's within the max distance, IP doesn't care how far away it is), why not have a network in on the main unit and network out on the jacks?

Seems like a nice product, but they shouldn't cram marketing all over it.

D'oh! Looks like you're right When I saw all of their "The IP Based Distributed Entertainment Company" and associated "sloganisms" I assumed this was IP based which would have been WAY cooler

        video over UTP/cat5 cable
        by sanaka
        Hi.

I'm building a new house and plan to run in-wall wiring to a projector location.

I found some cool RCA and S-Video modular wall jacks that terminate via 110 punchdown blocks. The idea being to directly run these signals on Cat cable.

        But will this really...

        UTP cable for speakers w/RMB-1075

Would you recommend using UTP cable, normal cable for PC Networks, to be used as an alternative to normal speaker cables? The cable is Avaya - SYSTIMAX 4 Pair Grey UTP 1071E GigaSPEED XL Cable, high quality cable network cable. I plan to group colour conductors for the positive pole and the white conducts...

        Hi All,

I have been reading and learning from posts in this forum for quite some time now but have not interacted much due to my limited knowledge and the very high standards that I see in all speaker projects posted here. I have been very inspired by the projects here. Finally, I have...

        Wierd x-over modeling

I've been forever threatning to tweak this old Aria 7 TLR kit that I purchased years ago, I've never been really happy with the sound of them, they sound good, but I think they should sound quite a bit better than they are. The first realization came awhile ago when I discovered that the x-over schematic...
