Mordac is named after the "Preventer of Information Services" character in the Dilbert comic strip.
It will be replacing "Zuul the Gatekeeper" as my firewall/gateway/DNS/DHCP box.
Zuul is running on 15 year old hardware and a 6 year old (no longer supported) version of Ubuntu Server so it was time to upgrade.
Here it is after I unboxed it. I just installed the SSD and will load the OS on it tomorrow, maybe. I have everything already set up in a VM so it'll just be a copy job.
It has an Intel Atom D2500, 2 GB RAM, and a 120 GB SSD. I chose this system because it's compact, power-saving and has two Intel gigabit NICs on the motherboard.
