      yup
he may have though i was just in the market because i was there for a while but having worked at bb in the past i know they dont have that latitude so it must be a factory incentive as he stated

the pioneers still look good but i miss that purple anti reflective film they use to have

Can anyone confirm this? If it's true I will go buy one, get one free, and sell the 720P unit and be way ahead of the game.

I need prices and model numbers... otherwise - it's a scam (right?)

there is enough margine on these tvs to still turn a profit
if i have time ill try to take a picture of the sign he displayed while talking to me- it may be agressive sales targeted at me unless someone else can confirm

                      A couple of points here.

The PRO-FHD1 is a true 1080p plasma monitor (monitor, not TV).

It's contrast ratio is only 3,000:1 - not the 10,000:1 from 1365x768 plasmas. This fact is conspicuous in its absence on the web-page. You get better detail from the higher pixel count, but lose out in the black-level-discrimination department. Pioneer is working on this and says it'll have a 20,000:1 1080p plasma available late 2007/early 2008.

                      Here's a link to the 2nd set: PDP-5016HD

IMO, this sounds like Pioneer is trying to move some of the PRO-FHD1s as it hasn't hit projected targets.

Ah... $8,000! That takes it out of my feasibility.

Most places are selling the 50 Elite for a little less than $7,000 so I guess you're paying about $1300 for the 50 HD 768

that seems like a reasonable deal if you're in the market for 2 - 50 inch plasmas... for $8K
