How often do you clean your filters?

Finally got my new FP setup. However, it doesn't state in the manual how often to clean the intake and exhaust filters. (1 hour,5 hours,10 hours etc.) Was wondering whats the rule of thumb. BTW. It's a Sanyo PLV-Z3.

I have a Z3. Many LCD PJs are famous for distortions from the blue panel screwing up, and the manufacturers have been taken to court over the issue a bunch of times when they blame the malfunction on dirty filters and customer negligence.

My apartment has near zero dust, and my filter is clean everytime I check it. However, if any lawyers want to know, I clean it before every use! :B

I've owned several projectors, more lcd than dlp, but regardless of what the manual says ( most of them recommend cleaning after 100 hours) I have be cleaning mine every 30 hours, which is roughly once a month for me.

I usually get my Air Duster and provide a quick burst before turning on the projector and viewing (fan and filter).

        Best regards,

I'll probably try the once a month method or 20 hrs. whichever comes first. I must say though. The pic quality when watching dvd's is absolutely stunning. Although I've only watched a few movies, I am blown away by the detail and color. I was not expecting this when I ordered the Sanyo. Living in SE Ohio doesn't offer much in the way of projector shopping. So I ordered this sight unseen. :E

Chris Isaac, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr…Raul Malo? Who the heck is Raul Malo you are probably asking. Hopefully after reading this review you will no...

            Cleaning Delta Series Aluminum

Here is a three step process to safely cleaning the aluminum of Delta Classe gear. Progress to the next step if the prior doesn't work.

            1.) Windex and microfiber cloth

2.) Purchase something called the "Tidy Pen"

            3.) If 1 and 2 dont work...

I've had this projector for about a month. Not even 100 hours on it but I see a lot of dust inside. Anybody knows how could you clean it? Can it be done without sending it to a professional shop? I read some ideas about using a air blowing can but I am not sure I want to do that

Can you folks recommend a way to clean the casing without leaving streak marks, etc? I like the soft-touch feel of the surface material, but find it hard to clean nicely. I've tried a touch of water and an eyeglass cleaning cloth. Thanks.

            Speaker Cabinet Cleaning
            by joetama
So, I've tried several different things to clean my speaker cabinets. However, I really don't like anything that i use because the texture of the B&W 703's is a bit hard to clean.

SO, what do you guys use to clean your speaker cabinets?
