    InFocus X1 Calibration

Hello all you AV geeks!!! I just got a new DVD player to go with my X1 and I also got a component to VGA cable to use the 480p video.

The DVD player is the Pioneer DV-578A Universal Disc Player.

MY QUESTION is now concerning the set-up and calibration of the X1 and the DVD player.

WHAT settings are optimal for the X1 on 480p.

WHAT settings should I set my DV-578A to?

DO any of you have this exact system? (InFocus X1 and Pioneer DV-578A)

I WILL ENJOY hearing your responses!!! Thank you all and Peace In Christ.

Don't have either of your components.

Even with the same component type, setting may not be exactly the same.

Best thing is to get a calibration disk, like the AVIA disk or VE (Video Essentials). Some movies with THX certification even have a calibration section where you can set black levels (through display brightness control) and peak whites (through contrast) by the supplied test patterns, IF your player passes the below black pluge test signals. Use the search engine here and you can find other calibration references.

Hey! Thank you for replying. I do have DVD's with the THX Optimizer which I will try.

Do you know anyone with the X1 and the DV-578A?

How can I get more people to respond to this post?

Thank you and Peace In Christ.

I'm sure this has been covered ad naseum, but with 30+ pages of posts, it's hard to find. Have a ~5 yr old panasonic rv30 dvd player that works great, but am about to upgrade the Quasar 27" (that's right, Quasar) with an Infocus 4805 projector. I figure I would be wasting my time without having...
