Green circle at the top of the screen

    Hey,

Just about 3 days ago I noticed a green circle at the top of my screen closer to the right hand side. The projector is a PT-AE500. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is this a dust blob?

    Thanks for the info.

Matt, if you can sharpen the circle with the focus ring, then it is a dust blob. If not, then it could be a polariser plate burn. I have a feeling it is a dust blob, though, as this little problem is not all that unusual with projectors.

Green = dust blob. Haven't heard of a burnt polarizer resulting in green.

Agreed... a burnt polarizer would result in a loss of a primary color, not a gain of one.

Burnt polarizer = yellow, cyan, or magenta blob (on a light background)
Dust = red, green, or blue blob (on a dark background)

Perhaps not. It was just a guess based on experienced I had with a burned polariser ( blue) plate. The burn had a greenish/yellowish look.

            Green bottom of screen

I hope this is the correct place for this question.

Hi all, my TV is starting to act up in a weird way. I have a green blob in the bottom right hand corner (kinda like old CRT's with unshielded speakers next to the screen). During white scenes the white appears the have a greenish blue...

            DUST?
            by Rock Dog
Wondering how members handle dust? DUST is a very important part of the care and maintainence of ALL your electronic equipment. It can cause real problems, especially with power supplys and amplifiers.

            1) Amps and power section with a nice layer of dust run hotter.
            2) If your...

I loved the teaming of Director Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon in the Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Supremacy, so I really hoped for something as good with their teaming for Green Zone, but alas, there is a bit of a letdown. Green Zone is an Iraq War themed film, presented almost documentary style and...

I have built exactly one pair of speakers plus a center channel, all based on existing plans here at htguide. I am hopefully going to soon start on my second paid in the near future, once again based on existing designs. However, I would eventually like to start building my own designs. However,...
