We do need to remind you of a tightening of our username policy. We've had a few violations recently where people are using dumber than dumb type names that make no sense, or have nothing in them that you can easily be called. Also special character names will be disallowed.
It is a requirement that a username possess at least a name that we can call you if we have no real name. ZAPLAPJRD for example is a horrid username, and you will be asked to change it first, then if you do not change it, one will be selected for you.
We also use this as a method to let spammers know we are on their trail, if they setup their stupid usernames here, we will find and exterminate them.
Examples of good new names?
Majician Ed. That's a good name.
HDTV Tom. That's a good name.
Ace Pilot would be ok, because we could call you Ace.
ZLKMFAFA is a bad name, and you will be asked to change it.
We will no longer put up with stupid usernames that afford nothing for us to call you, and if our policy on this is challenged to often, we may start requiring real names. Additional username leniency will be given if you list your real name in your profile because at least we can then look that up.
We also encourage you to have either your email or private messages turned on for admin contact. We can still find your email, but it does take additional steps for us to contact you when you stay completely hidden. If you are completely hidden, zero tollerence for username violations will be allowed.
