FYI -- the next "trade 2 used DVDs for a preordered new DVD" offer at Electronics Boutique is for the "Spider Man" DVD according to one of the EB dudes who was there when I picked up my preordered Lord of the Rings DVD yesterday. According to him, they wiill announce details sometime this month (August 2002) even though the spidey thing won't be released until November.

I'm real happy to see Band of Brothers on there.
I have been wondering when that was gonna be released.
If you guy's didn't catch that series on HBO definately give it a look.
It was a awesome series.

Bob, I agree entirely. Band Of Brothers was an excellent, excellent series. It's at the top of my "gotta have it" list. I just hope the DVD's got the treatment they deserve (Amazon is showing them to be 1.66:1 anamorphic with DTS and DD5.1 soundtracks).

Oooh, oooh! Picked up Spider-Man Saturday. Waiting on the extended cut of LOTR and Attack Of The Clones to show up in the mail-box. I'm trying to find out if Band Of Brothers is a Christmas present or not. . . sure hope so.

Eight legged freaks ? Haven't watched it yet. I hear it's a throwback to those horror/sci-fi flicks of the fifties like THEM, only with a little comedy thrown in. Some personal matters have been making it difficult to find time for movie viewing, but as soon as I catch up I'll post a few comments on what I have watched.

I also picked up AOTC yesterday. Got the last WS copy (on display) toys r us. Pensacola is small so, they went quick. I was there at 11:15am!

Hey, Tex, got my widescreen copy of AOTC at Wallyworld for $24 something Canadian. Non-pirated edition.

Oh, let me know what you think of Reign of Fire. Was going to buy it but haven't read anything positive about it.

George, I REALLY enjoyed Reign Of Fire. Just take it as a rip-snorting (pun intended ), Saturday matinee, us vs. the dragons kind of movie. The dragons are very well done, I already liked Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale, and Izabella Scorupco is easy on the eyes. I gave it :35: out of :5:.

Just watched Reign of Fire last night as well. I was a little disappointed. I liked it OK, but was looking for a little more. Dragons were great though. As someone else said, they were very similar to the one in Dragonslayer (since these are both Disney-owned, I almost wonder if intentionally so).

Not quite sorry I bought it, but not glad either.

Usual scientific nits. Why would a creature burn most of the calorie value out of its food and then eat the ash? And many more. But whatever.

Hmmm, one thumbs up and one thumbs down. Probably best to rent it first to see if it is the kind of film I will want to watch more than once.

I wouldn't quite say I thumb downed it. Maybe stuck my thumb in my nose, or in my pocket, sideways.

I did like it, just less than I thought I would. If it had had a lot more dragon scenes in it, I would have liked it more.

Re: Reign Of Fire, I rented it over the weekend. I thought it was pretty good, but to be honest, it's not one I would want to watch more than once, so I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Guess I am a lot fussier now as to what I buy. In the early days before rentals were available, I bought everything in sight.
