    Ocean's Eleven cool, but

It just didn't have the same charisma the original had, at least for me. On the other hand, anyone not familiar with the original will probably like this particular take. Steven Soderburgh surrounds himself with the likes of George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, etc., etc., so it was pretty hard for him to go wrong.
Storywise, Clooney and company plan to rob 3 Las Vegas casinos and carry it out, thjough not without complications. I won't reveal anything here about the ending, except to say it is nothing like the twist of the original. In fact, aside from the casino robberies, very litle of the remake is like the original story.
Picture is gorgeous and sound has some nice low end.

I watched this movie the other night and thought it was very entertaining. I'm not a big George Clooney fan after the 9-11 thing...(you know I'd have to be a Bill O'Reily fan). But I was pleased with all the other stars included.

I want to see it on DVD though. I was forced to watch it on VHS with nothing but TV since my pre/pro bit the dust.

Not a bad flick at all really. I think I would have livened it up with a bit of action of some kind though.

What did Clooney the loonie do?

A sequel to the casino-heist remake "Ocean's Eleven" is in the works, according to Variety.

Director Steven Soderbergh and star George Clooney have committed to the project, while the possible return of Brad Pitt and other members of the cast is still up in the air.

My one word review of "Ocean's Eleven": Lackluster.

This film was placed on autopilot almost as soon as you see Casey Affleck's character's Radio-Controlled "Stomper Bully" race/truck get stomped on by its inspiration, a real race/truck during a mini-race.

          Wow, what a cast:

Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Matt Damon. Maybe I missed someone else? Only saw 1 introductory preview very briefly, but looks to be set to be the December smash mouth success-

Can't wait for this one on DVD!

          Cape Fear the original...
          by George Bellefontaine
Because this is an older film (released in 1961) and in black and white, it will probably get passed over for the newer (Martin Scorcese) version in color with DD sound. But that is a shame.
As much as I liked Scorcese's version, the original is much more chilling, and the B&W transfer befits...
