    Pathfinder sneaks into stores

I was in one of the largest retail chain today, and saw Pathfinder. It's about a viking child left in the new world. Raised by native americans, he grows into a man. The vikings return(to do what they do best, rape, kill, and plunder), and he sets out to defend his adopted family...I had seen the trailer in theaters, but I missed the movie. Now it's on DVD with very little fanfare.

Has anyone seen this picture, and is it worth buying.

I haven't seen it as yet, but I have read elsewhere some terrible things about it, particularly in the acting department. I will rent it , though, to satisfy my own curiosity.

Well I watched it last night and I didn't find it all that bad. After the credits fade, you won't want to stare at your navel and contemplate the universe, but lovers of action films will get their money's worth with Pathfinder. And one viewing was certinaly plenty for me so you may want to rent it before buying.

Note: the majority of the movie is filmed in dark surroundings, so make sure your tv/projector is calibrated properly for shadow detail.

              The Vikings Revisited
              by George Bellefontaine
I saw this one in a grand old cinema back in 1958, and it sure was nice to project it on my own widescreen. It stars Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Curtis is a slave of the Vikings, who causes Douglas ( the son of the Viking leader) to become facially scarred. Since the Douglas character...

              Big box stores and widescreen
              by Andrew Pratt
I'll preface this rant upfront by saying that although I'm picking on Wal-Mart it applies equally to most of the big stores I've been into but since I'm at Wal-Mart everymorning I see it going on there more then anywhere else.

I have come to dread walking into wal-mart most mornings now...

              by frasse74
              Hi all

I have a question about if anyone knows Parasound

Do the store needs to buy the product to make a demo
of it or does Parasound sends out a product to a store so
they can demostrates it for a time ?
              I have no idea...

My father, the HD newbie (funny story)
              by sikoniko
Last summer my father bought himself a 42 in plasma. He lives in Ohio, I live in Florida. When I visited him shortly after he had regular cable, so I instructed him to upgrade to HD service (he has Insight). Dutifully, he did.

Over the phone I would ask him what he thought and he would...

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer
              by theSven
              By Jon Hancock

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...
