Had this on order for awhile, finally got it and watched it last night. It stars Lee Marvin, Angie Dickinson,Keenan Wynne, Carrol O'Connor, John Vernon and Llyod Bochner. Marvin helps a friend ( Vernon ) who owes a mob organization a lot of money. They pull off a heist together but Vernon doublecrosses Marvin, shoots him point blank and leaves him for dead. But he doesn't die. He wants his revenge and he wants his money and spends the rest of the film going about it. There is a clever twist ending that you have to see to appreciate.
This is a very taut drama with stylish direction by John Boorman. The film was releases in the mid 60s so female fashions are on the short side, showing off a very young and sexy Angie Dickinson. PQ quality is fine but nothing exceptional and sound is mono so it won't rock your system. But this is a very good film with a solid story, strong acting and direction. Lee Marvin is top notch. POINT BLANK makes a welcome addition to my classic dvd collection.
