    Old Movies......................

Are there any movies/shows you've watched (VHS or TV) that you'd wish it could be re-done on DVDs?

    Mine would be: -

    1) Land of the Giants
    2) Chef!
    3)Simon Templer

Will think of some more later.

Now you've done it. There are 5-6 movies/shows I'd like on DVD, but now that you've asked I can't remember a single one. Sheesh.

African Queen is one of the first to spring to my mind. A classic w/o a DVD.

African Queen, yes and the original King Kong, though I understand that both are supposed to be on the way. I was also dying to see two John Wayne classics: The High And The Mighty and Island In The Sky, and thankfully these have just been released recently.

If they do release The African Queen, I sure do hope they do something better than the transfer on laserdisc. The sound is horrible and the print is dirty and overly grainy.

All the ones Tex listed are good for me, too, especially Greg Peck's Stalking Moon.

Thanks,I did not know that. The movie has a great blunder in it...during the climatic chase to the airfield you can see one of the cables used to flip one of the Nazi half-tracks.Just adds to the charm....

Wow, FRIENDS OF EDDIE COYLE, I forgot just how good that movie was. Hope it makes it to dvd. Oh, Herman, I should point out that a while back they did release some of the HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL episodes on dvd. That was also a fravorite tv show of mine. Richard Boone was so cool as Palladin.

It is the story of a career criminal, played by Robert Mitchum. His wheelings, dealings and assortment of "friends"....
This film must have come out in the early,mid-seventies.I last saw it sometime in the eighties...my memory of it fades, but I do recall it was a fine film. And of course I remember the line, where he tells a young protegee....
