If you are a now adult fan of this series from childhood, the movie will likely disappoint a bit, as it focuses on the youngest member of the family who is not yet a participating team member, and his pals Brain's son (he managed to procreate?) and Tintin, the daughter of the all around help family on the island, as they are the only free members of the group left to foil an island takeover by arch nemesis The Hood. The rest of the Tracy family is basically left out of the bulk of the movie.
However, the movie is still a lot of fun, and seeing all the classic TB ships in current stateoftheart CGI glory is a real kick. Ben Kingsley is a good villain for the mood of the movie, and Lady Penelope is great (as is Parker).
Disk itself is in the pretty good, but not stellar, department. Transfer is clean, but colors are a bit heavy. Audio is decent.
If you've got kids in the 5-12 range, they'll certainly enjoy it. If not, but it seems appealing to you at all, certainly worth a rent. My kid liked it (7 years old), more than Sky Captain from the previous night.
