    "Blue Jasmine" Review

While walking into the movie theater to see "Blue Jasmine" with my friend yesterday, he said to me.... "I hope it has good laughs"!!??. Well I can tell you now that it doesn't......hardly. It's not that it's a bad film, it's actually very good. However, I would not paint this film as a comedy at all. In all actuality, it's a very angry film. It has many very angry scenes that at times get a little uncomfortable.

It's a film about Jasmine's fall from the upper class ranks to the working class. She of course does not handle that transition very well at all.

The film is done in the traditional Woody style in every way. The writing is ok but certainly not his best by any stretch of the imagination. I did notice for all you videophiles that it was a digital viewing. There were no lines on the screen that you would see with a traditional 'film' version of a movie. That being said, I did find the image a little 'soft' and not as sharp as other Woody Allen films I've seen.

I liked this film and was entertained by it. It can, however wait for Dvd for anyone that wishes to see it one day. However, it was no "Hannah and her sisters" by any stretch!!.

7/10 stars for the entertainment. You will not need kleenex to wipe of your tears of laughter though.

THE LAST SAMURAI is a beautiful film
    by George Bellefontaine
I know there are many action film fans, and Tom Cruise fans as well here at The Guide, and I'm also certain that many of you have already seen this terrific film in the theater so I won't go into great detail on the storyline.

Basically it's about a battle-weary, and mentally disturbed,...

Woody Allen's : You will meet a tall dark stranger review

Actually I'm not going to call this review a review because the movie is quite simply a very poor effort. The ending is laughable. 4/10 stars. The poorest effort I have ever seen from Woody. Watch at your own risk!!.

How much should a student first time film cost?
    by oldbob
In answer to my own question, I would say between $10,000 and $40,000 dollars. It used to be more but digital has drastically lowered the cost while at the same time making it much easier to produce a professional look.

However, this isn’t a story about reasonable. This is the true...

    Student Film part three

Now we all have learned that at the beginning of each day you are given your pages of the days work. For me that means I can figure out how I am going to utilize my crew and plan my day. The more I can get ahead of the company with pre-lighting the more time I can save production. And in film time is...
