:banana: Whee! We're off on another roller-coaster 24 hours with Jack Bauer and the gang! Anyone else watching?

I've already got some questions:

What's "the deal" that President (Wayne) Palmer cut with the Chinese to get Jack back? Are we looking at a set-up for next season?

What happened to Jack's right hand? Is that a burn? Acid?

Okay now having said that, I am going to just include a spoiler just in case.

Okay, so another nuculear bomb goes off in California and we are only 4 hours into the show!

Jack shoots Curtis! :E That was more of a shocker, but in light of everything not surprising.

I apprecaite the spoiler tags for us DVR users. So, far I have only watched Sunday's opening 2 hours. Looks like another thrill ride.

Already though I have a couple of issues. for one, Jack had no blood on his back after he was apparently stick with that prong, and of course it didnt take long to be able to cary his shoulder properly while running after the guy stuck his nerve center with that knife. The other nit pick is he voice, he started raspy but was right back to his normal out of breath yell in a short time.

The only thing is we know there has to be a mole (there always is) so, who is it? Could it be the guy from Numbers perhaps? Care to speculate?

I don't think I have to spoiler the following comments.

I do believe there must be a mole. Mole, mole, mole, mole. Just who can it be now?!?! You would think that after so many years, there would be some more background checks. It is still early, only 4 hours in, so there is a chance that there is no mole this season. So the mole pool will start.

I think it has been clearly demonstrated in the past 5 seasons that Jack has an increadible healing and recouperation capabilties. I would say that exposure to sunlight and the 'fresh' California air did wonders to his healing process.

Again, as proven in the past 5 seasons, Jack has an uncanny nack to be in the right place at the right time and able to assimilate necessary information.

His interrogation abilities need to be honed some, but that will happen after 2 years in confinment. He still can kick but.

I think you will be glad and maybe shocked on what wasn't in my spoiler tag.

As I watched last night I kept thinking, this is season...5 or 6, but each season represents one day in the life.....thats a few pretty bad days right there. I have had some challenging days, but I think his are much tougher

Paul, NOT SURPRISING?????? Jack has to shoot the closest thing he has to a friend and that's not surprising? I felt like throwing up, too.

As far as the nuke goes, it was just a small one.

Well, I do have another question: It appeared that the nuclear scientist only had access to one of the bombs in order to arm it. What good are the other 4 going to be to Fayed now that said scientist is plasma?

Oh, no kidding! I never saw that brother connection coming at all. I also like the actor they chose for the character of Jack's father (James Cromwell). The next episode ought to be a good one.

Yeah, they have done a marvelous job of creating a LOT of intrigue with the family ties.

Also is it just me or does Jack's Brothers son look an awful lot like Jack? I know sometimes subtlety is too subtle for me to catch and the odvious doesnt always hit me.

I think not, seeing as Jack went out with his brother's wife first. I'm thinking he's Jack's kid.

Another good episode. Not much happening on the search for Fayed. The interaction between him and the techie guy is interesting. As the techie guy, I'd be asking a whole lot more than just $7 million. I am surprised I didn't hear the line, "Hey, I'm not the one that set off the nke! So finding someone is going to take longer! Plus my price has gone up."

We finally see dad and the sons together. I wonder what happened in the past. I'm sure we'll probably find out next episode.

Just as a general comment. I sure hope CTU security people are well paid and have lots of life insurance. The attrition rate seems abnormally high! I think they will become the red shirts of Star Trek fame.

Our boy from Numbers - Tomas Lennox is looking more and more like a mole too me. I was also pretty suspicious of Naddia Yassir (the gal at CTU), especially the way she reacted to Milo (the guy let her use his loggin).

One beef I have is, why didnt Karen Hayes use her pull with the President to avoid the issue and odvious stress of her resignation

Clearly, she was very well liked by the Pres and it would seem to me she could have gotten a parden for any wrong doing by exposing the fact that Thomas Lennox was undermining the Pres.

Thats the one part of almost any movie/TV show that drives me crazy. It seems that at times the conversation that doesnt take place is soooooooo odviously what is needed and yet it doesnt happen.

I would have liked Milo to say "I hope you're not another a terrorist!"

I think from the first episode we knew he was a weasle, it is just how far will he go.

Well we know Palmer is now push over. Plus he is smart enough that he will put it together.

I don't think Karen will live out the day. That is just a hunch of mine.

I thought it was weird how Daddy Bauer shot one of the captors, seeing as Jack was pretty much in control. But by the end of the episode it is very clear. I knew something was up when he was hanging around by the house.

Pretty coincidental how that IT guy, forgot his name, Chole's boyfriend, gets the message about his brother being in the hospital. I'm still surprised that message got passed along.

Now we have a nice 2 hour episode coming up.

Having Morris turn out to be the person that could "fix" the nukes was pretty easy to see coming. To have him driving around in a just-bombed city (with more bombs on the loose) and no escort was odd - to say the least.

Anyone else think that the personality change by the blonde with the guy looking for nuke techie was a little odd?

How long before the VP and Lennix stage a coup after Palmer's refusal to implement the "directive"?

I like the whole scenario with Morris and his being tortured, giving in, cooperating, feeling remorse, etc. They really hit the mark there.

I don't know Morris is being overly dramatic and almost sterotypical, if there could be a sterotype for someone who's been kidnapped, tortured, and knowingly creating an arming device for some N-booms. Now he's so screwed up that he thinks Milo is so much better than him. I mean get a grip! I just want Chole to bitch slap him and lock him in a room. I guess they are ex's and there was something there, but Chole is usually so much more direct.

So Daddy Bauer is pretty serious. I wonder who else is connected.

By now we know where Assan is. I've never liked when TV shows countdowns for timers. I mean, when I see a timer counting down, I just automatically start counting down, 10..9..8..7...1...2..3..4..5..6.. where's the explosion, oh there it is. Assan's a bit slow on the reaction time, but I think he got the job done. I was figuring it might have been Tom Lenox to save the day, but no luck on that front, yet.

What else has happened? Oh the ex-President has made an apperance. So is he reformed or is he up to something? I guess we shall see next episode.

Who thinks the surviving Bauer familly members are ripe for another kidnapping?

Where's Karen Hayes? Still enroute I guess. Or will she be called back?

A lot more helicopters being used, that helps to cut down the travel time, but awfully convienient they are around when you need them.

As an aside, I heard on the radio this morning that back a few months when the actor that plays Hasan was in town, he did a cable TV interview and since he's such a joker, he said he was on 24 playing a bad guy that was going to blow up LA. Nobody really took him seriously.

Is Assan dead? I think so, but he probably saved the President's life. It'll be interesting to see how they play out the scenario developing between Palmer and the Vice President. Does the VP take over as the Pres may be incapable? And, where does Tom Lennox go from here?

From the previews tonight ought to be fun - Jack running amok in the Russian embassy no less. . .

I'm thinking it is very possible that the VP will take over, it seems logical and it suits thier purpose.

I think Assan is dead, or in critical condition. So was the Pres within the 10ft kill radius? I think he was just on the boarder, then you have Assan as a shield. So I think the Pres is okay, but will be shaken up and may be 'sedated'.

Tom is a dead man. They will pin it on him and he will commite suicide. That should be the plan. I don't know if they can accomplish it.

I've seen the TV spot for tonights episode and I wish the writers would show CTU just being more capable. I won't spoiler this, but for crying out loud, the nations couter terrorist unit over the past decade, has a pretty piss poor record. But then again, there wouldn't be a TV show.

Are you enjoying this season? (Season 6)

Maybe I'm the minority, but I'm not enjoying this season. Too many ridiculous stories...at least more than usual for 24. The Bauer Family, Chloe and Morris, Audrey, Pres. Logan and his wife --- I don't want to go into details to spoil anything, but am I the only who thinks this is all stupid and ruining a GREAT show? Why is it that we have to bring every character into the story over and over again? Some seasons it worked out great. But now --- for crying out loud, just leave it be. A lot of this stuff is just unnecessary fluff.

I consider myself a HUGE 24 fan, and have been watching since the beginning, but it has become very painful to watch. I will continue to watch in hopes it gets better, but it doesn't seem like it will.

I do like one thing about S6. I actually like Ricky Schroder's character Mike. You don't like him at first, but he starts to grow on you.

So CTU is comprimised, again. I was thinking they would be going after Moris. Turns out they are after somebody else.

We don't get an explaination about Heller. Maybe we'll get one tonight, but I think this will be next season's story line.

I'm starting to lose interest and that's a bad sign. My vcr is ready as I doubt I will watch it live.

No word on the Heller situation during this episode.

Poor Milo. He was starting to come out as a good character. I thought Morris would be another casualty this episode, but that didnt' happen.

Why didn't Jack just shoot Chen? Because then we wouldn't have a 2 hour wrapup.

So why did Mike decide to come back to CTU? It was very fortunate.

So the spy was being spied upon. That ploy was never going to work, but it did eat up some time.

I hear that 24 has been renewed for another 2 seasons and the setting will change from LA.

I'm still not caught up - two more episodes to go. I agree with you Paul, I don't care if I see it live or not and that's a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. I really lost interest after President Palmer went down for the count. From then on it's been just too far off course for me to really enjoy. Oh well, I hear it's been renewed for two more years so maybe they'll come up with some better writers, or at least a better story before next season.

And, I have to agree that Ricky Schroder's character has been the pleasant surprise of this season.

Not the best season (probably the worst of the six). But, I'm in a forgiving mood for a few reasons.

One--there are always plot holes. The speed of the show blurs them, but they are in every season.

Two--I usually consider it a major accomplishment if a two-hour movie keeps me in suspense. Twenty-four hours of suspense calls for a bit of leeway (and they're usually successful).

Three--The show is a bit of a victim of its own success. Prior to this season, many viewers had five years of practice of keeping track of multiple plot lines, quick action, etc. We're getting better while it gets harder for the producers to stay one step ahead.

Four--Everyone is entitled to have an off-season--as long as they don't "mail it in". I think this year they reached a point where they weren't quite sure how to top themselves, and they got a bit lost. If it gets more ridiculous next year, though, then I'll be less forgiving.

Five--Few shows this year, to me, were as entertaining as 24 (even with its flaws this season).

Just my 2 cents.

We all thought he was dead. I might have to go back and check last season.

Hey, anyone catch 24:Redemption recently. It was on over here a couple of weeks back. I had it recoded on my PVR and finally got to watch it last night.

So, it's set between season 6 and 7 (launched January), Jack Bauer is hiding away in a ficticious African state. A coup is just about to kick off and as expected he finds himself in the middle of it all.

Anyhow, it was interesting stuff and enjoyable too. It sets up season 7 nicely too.
