Try to catch everything in one post.
1) Lights on power buttons. They are way too bright and no way to dim them. The rack is behind me so no issues when watching a movie or TV, but if it was in front of me I would be quicker to do something about it. Since they are on when the equipment is off, I have no issues walking through the room with no lights on at night! I'll eventually pull them out and experiment with some resistors to dim them down.
2) Placement. Processor is on the bottom do to the height and cables. I'm 5'11" and the volume knob is right at my nose. I don't touch it much, but on top of the amps would be just too high. In addition, moving it above the amps would require new cables for just about everything below the touchscreen.
3) Heat. No issues what so ever, doesn't get any warmer then it did on a normal shelf with 2" open above it. Since it was designed to be rack mounted from the start it seems they moved internal components around and added enough vents everywhere for a natural chimney effect. Keep in mind there's nothing under the 1570, nothing above the 1562, and nothing to the sides.
To keep the closet cool, there's two 5" variable speed fans venting out to the laundry room. The speed changes depending on what volume and source I have it at.
