RA-04 upgrade or add a new DAC?

Basically, I have to decide how to spend $1200 on my system (RA-04+Polk floor speakers+Calyx headphone DAC) and get the best bang for my buck. I only use my computer as an audio source now (FLACs, some burned vinyl etc.).

    1) Buy a RA-11/12 plus a M2Face USB/Splif converter and sell the RA-04.
    2) Buy a RDD-1580 DAC and keep the RA-04.
    3) Buy a RDD-06 DAC, add a power amp from Ebay (RB-981 preferably), keep the RA-04.

I'd be grateful for some suggestions. Thank you.

Warmer, more ambient, and more definition. Although using the Halo's DAC's for stereo is not bad at all, the...

Originally, I was going to add a RB 1070 power amp from EBay but I have been outbid...

What's a good price for an RB981 used. Is it 130w per side or total. I'm thinking of offering no more than $400 CDN.

    Thanks,

Developing Issue: RB981 "whinning" on power-down
    by jpmarotta
    Hey all-

Just a quick question before I send the unit off for service, wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

On power-down, the left channel of my RB981 produces a mid to high pitched "whine" or "squeal" about 5 seconds after the protection...
