According to the upgrade instructions at the end of the update the unit should be set to the factory default, therefore, should one run the setup utility to save the user unit setup before doing the update?

That's what I thought but I felt it was better to make sure.

Just finished the software updates. Hope they work as the notes claim. The Audio took almost 55 minutes on my USB to RS232 connection but the Main and Scaler only took about 5 minutes each. The Rotel Setup Configuration Program was time saver. Can't imagine reconfiguring my setup manually. Heck! It took a lot of time setting my RSX 1560 to my likes.

Recommended Minimum Audio Software: V1.13 Bug Fix (Minor): Disabled contour controls for digital audio signals above 48kHz because audio distortion or dropouts could occur when contour was enabled with 96kHz and higher audio signals. Bug Fix (Minor): Fixed a bug that would cause the unit to intermittently respond to RC5 IR commands from Panasonic Blu-Ray players.

Thanks for the update Kevin!! This is great news that they have fixed the split second audio delay on optical and coaxial signals. A thanks to also those who had the problem and reported it to Rotel too.

If it's under warranty I can take it back to my dealer right to get it updated?? I'm assuming they do the update too. Thanks again. Gonna get to work and call my dealer...woohoo...

The dealer should be able to apply the update and should be glad to do it for their customer, but I've seen a few issues of dealers being clueless.

Called my dealer and they will charge me from 25 to 50 dollars to do the update. I am going to do it myself because I find it impractical to unplug my unit and bring it all the way to the dealers store which is about a 35 dollar cab ride.

My version is V1.1.8-090818

Video is V1.12

So the the audio version is V1.1.8-090818?? Can somebody provide me info into what I will need to do first? I don't want to mess this firware update up at all. Thanks in advance.

RoMan, just read and follow the instructions precisely and everything should be OK. Stay calm, and don't interrupt the update.

Hi,

Has anyone tried upgrading the software on a Mac with OSX 10.6.2 runnning Parallels Desktop? Any issues?

I purchased the 1570 and a couple other components less than 2 months ago and just discovered my software is quite old.

My version is V1.1.3 -090216

Video is V1.10

I haven't checked the audio yet but wouldn't be surprised if it's old too.
