We have just moved house - I have my Rotel RA-03 and B&W 603s in my room - but due to space considerations cannot put them the usual way - one on each side with amp in middle.
The Rotel amp and cd player (and Magnum Dynalab tuner) are in a closed wooden cabinet I made especially for them (doors in front but completely open back for wiring and air to get in).
The problem is that the cabinet is very close to the one speaker (diagonally in front). If I took a ruler and measured from the closest corner of the speaker to the closest corner of the amp, say, we are talking of about 25cm.
Is that a problem? (I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that there could be "magnetic interference" whatever that is supposed to mean - I am non-technical so I have no idea how significant that is).
In the cabinet itself I have amp on top of CD player and then on a separate shelf above that, with a fair space between, the MD tuner. The wood is 22mm thick (plywood) - so the cabinet and configuration there is fine. Does the fact that there wood in between make it better?
