    AV32R bass managment

I just pulled out a old issue of Sound&Vision that reviewed the AV32R. It mentions not being able to set different crossover points for different sets of speakers. For example you cant set your mains up at 50hz, and the rear surrounds at 80hz. Is this still the case, or have there been changes in the software?

Good question Bob. Hopefully Buzz will be over to address that question, unless one of the other guys knows...

Sorry Bob, we haven't implelented more variable crossovers yet. You can futz with the sub x over (50, 80, 120) and address each speaker set individually (mains, vs sides vs rears). But the long rope to get you all screwed up in bass maanagement land has not been added, yet...

        Buzz,
        Thanks for the reply.
I'm not looking for to much in the way of bass management. Just to be able to have my mains roll off at 50hz, and be able to set my rears, and sides at 80hz. What I gather from your response
        is that is possible. Correct?

No, there is not that variability in the mains yet.
FWIW, I've found 0 cases where it really helps to set the mains that low. You start getting into room mode problems and obviously there is not much flexibility in placement of the mains.
Plus, it helps to not ask the woofers on the mains to do too much, alleviating LF from them helps clear up the lower/mid bass. I know this goes against the "I paid for my big speakers and I wnat to get the bass I paid for out of them" mentality, but physics overules psyche here.
It is sometimes useful to vary the cutoff for the sub, which is currently supported.

            Buzz,
You know that makes perfect sence.
And your correct I definately fall into that mentality. And to make it even worse I owned a Theta that had a billion bass managment options. I guess since I had it in one, I got used to it. Whether needed or not.

Hey, it's usually a nice thing to have the extra rope to hang yourself, or at least have the option!
Seriously, I've spent a faitr amount of time on the LF response, in four different rooms. I always ended up back at 80 Hz. It was well chosen.

                by PhilS
I am awaiting delivery of my AV32R, which should be here anyday. Can't wait. I was initially considering using the Sony ES9000 for CD and DVD play, but it turns out that I might not need a progressive DVD player with the projector I am considering. So, now I am thinking about using a fairly inexpensive...

Buzz, is there any way that the AV32R can remotely turn on my Citation 7.1 amp, which I can be turned on remotely by use of a 4.5 volt to 12 volt DC signal. I used to turn the amp on by means of a AC to DC converter plugged into the switched outlet of my reciver. It's not clear to me from the AV32R...

Hey all, I posted this on the TAG Mclaren forum on their website, but felt I should post it here too as I am unsure if this is a problem with the disc, or possibly the V3.2 software upgrade on the AV32R.

I got Superman DVD today, all plays fine except for the trailers and TV spot on the...

Are the USA dealers permitted to sell to Canada or is this something that Tag regulates? I have purchased a new AV32R-EX but, many dealers from the USA were concerned or not sure if the product could be sold outside the USA. I do understand that the warranty or hardware upgrades...
