    RSP-970 memory problem

    Hello,

    I have the following problem:

When I'm setting-up my pre-processor the memory isn't working: when I have set the speaker settings (volume and delay) the sound is great, but when i'm changing source or turn off my pre-pro, every single setting is gone

Could this be an empty battery or do you think this is something else?

    Greetings

    Niels Lukens

It might be that a backup battery has failed, kind of like a CMOS battery on a computer. The newer units are hard written to an EEPROM and don't have a battery, but it's possible on an older unit like this.

Wouldn't hurt to crack open the case and see if you see anything on the board that looks like a watch battery (possibly as big as a quarter). If not, a call to Rotel tech support should give you an answer.

Buy eeprom and change myself RSX-1065
      by fgkblacklabel
      Hi,

As mentioned in another thread I have a RSX-1065 with old FW 1.3. I would like to upgrade the eeprom so I can upgrade fw to 2.xx. Though I don“t want to pay like 300 usd to have this done by a dealer. It seems like a pretty easy task to change eeprom myself. Unless there is another...

      OK, I'll bite.

Interested to know Jon's take on battery power in the DIY realm. My own application involves power UcD400 modules off of two APS battery packs ($25/ea on surplus market) which have 4 12V7ah batteries in each and a battery charger. Together...

      Battery powered phono pre-amp???
      by kpodolski
I have a Cambridge 640P and had some questions regarding powering it via a battery instead of the wall wart. The pre-amp requires 12v .05a. Before wasting time and money building a battery pack I used my 12v motorcycle battery. When I power the unit up with the battery the power indicator lamp lights...
