Or for that matter, is there a website that has CES updates for audiophile stuff? I can find all the computer crap I want. So far, Stereophile.com seems to be it. Interesting piece on Thiel's upcoming 3.7 series speakers... aluminum mid and bass (not realy a mid/bass... Thiel's have a 'mechanical' crossover, for those who are not familiar).

Try Audioholics and Secrets - they both are doing some CES coverage.

Until one of our own shares CES info...

          http://www.hometheaterhifi.com <--- secrets

Each year Audioholics embarrasses other publications by providing HUNDREDS of pages of new products coverage for the CES, CEDIA, EHX and other trade shows. With coverage like this it's almost as good

Is anyone back from Vegas yet...

Someone plz spill the beans on what you learned hands on in the Private Rotel session.

I hope they didn't make you sign confidentiallity forms and such and that's why we only have heard so far news from APC regarding Rotel.

                            Thanks a bunch.

I don't get it. I thought Rotel always said you should plug your devices directly into the wall and that their products internal power supplies did not require any power conditioning or voltage regulation.

Of course, because until now they weren't trying to sell you a power conditioner.

Don't have a Rotel price list, but the APC S15 (equivalent to the RLC-1080) lists for $1499, and the APC H15 (RLC-1040) lists for $399. They can be bought online for less, but prices for the Rotel units are likely to be higher than APC's.

First of all I don't think Rotel would tell you to not protect your gear from surges/brownouts. Second, even Rotel will likely admit that although they may wish it, not every single piece of AV gear you own is likely to be from their company Especially considering they don't make TV's etc.

Also, I believe they were speaking more directly about their amps and for the reason of not limiting the amperage available to them through a good portion of protection devices.

Being from South Africa, I do not know much about CES.

Can we take it then that, the fact that we have heard nothing more, implies that Rotel released nothing else. Or how long does this thing run for?.

Does that also mean that this is it for 2006.

I spoke with someone from Rotel the other day, and she said these conditioners should hit the market in the second quarter of this year. MSRP is supposed to be 1800 and 500 for the 2 units. I just ordered a H15 for a great price.

                                              current limiting was the issue
so many conditioners had current limiting issues that a statement had to be made. I don't believe Rotel suggests you plug RMB's into the new votage rugulating device either, they don't suggest you do (either) it's your call but not required.

TV's, projectors & Pre-amplifiers, media servers... that's the important stuff.

Or a new pre/pro with HDMI inputs??? I was gonna try and see if I could get an RSP-1068 for a good price, but I think I'm gonna wait until they include some HDMI inputs so I don't have to upgrade yet again.
