Bryston 9B SST or Rotel 1095

Have decided on one of these two 5 channel amps. Bryston will cost me 50% more than the Rotel. Do I spend the extra money on the Bryston ? How much more of an amp is the Bryston than the Rotel 1095 ?

In the Feb '01 SGHT, the 1095 was reviewed in direct comparison to the 9B THX.

For 5-channel listening the Bryston rated 5x120w (actually measures more like 5x150w). The Rotel is rated 5x200w. But for 2-channel listening, because of the monoblock design the Bryston remains 2x120w. The Rotel however becomes a 2x235w because of its shared massive toroids.

Only you can decide if its worth 50% more to eek out <5% more performance in the sonics.

Aaah yet another review confirming what we're all hearing. Rotel may not be the best but they're next to unbeatable in their price range. To do any better you HAVE to spend more money.
