    New 1056, Help needed

I have my new receiver and 1060 dvd player operating but the remotes(rr-1050 and rr-dv94) on these two units are driving me nuts! I replaced the batteries in both remotes thinking that maybe the ones that they came with might have been stuffed.

For some reason they will only operate my equipment if i'm standing on one leg while balancing on the edge of the coffee table, i can even stand in front of the receiver or dvd player and they still won't operate the components properly.

This is very frustrating, just trying to setup all the speaker levels and such is near impossible. Advice please guys,

Do you have a plasma display? These can play havoc with the remote operation.

Your'e 1050 maybe set by default to completely control both pieces, if not I would program it to do such. It will just simplify things a bit. For both units to act up, hmmm, what type, color lighting is in the room? I am not sure of the carrier frequency of the remotes but it sounds like the waves are getting attenuated somehow, and I am not sure of the bandwidth for IR but you may try their reactions in the room with only an incandescent lamp on. If you have a digital movie camera you can look at the emitter of the remotes and see them "flash" while depressing a button, this will confirm they are trying and something else is the cause.

Ok, we have worked out what the issue was, i have exterior speakers which have ir control back to a yamaha amp which is giving off a signal in the middle of the day, be it only slight. I disconnected the exterior ir sensor and woohoo, problem fixed.

        thanks for the replies guys.

Classé Remotes - Info on remotes used with Classe equipment
          by D-bucket
I recently tried to identify what specific classé equipment a couple of older classé remotes were originally used with. The lettering & labels were quite worn and difficult to make out, but I figured I could quickly make the identifications from the layout of the keys and searching the internet....

          by chasw98
I have had Harmony remotes for more than 4 years now and up until yesterday I have been very happy with their functionality. They have allowed me to have a complex system that the family could operate.

Logitech has deemed it neccesary to remove the capability to send multiple commands...

          Harmony remote with RSX-1056?
          by stantheman2
I have owned the RSX-1056 for almost a year but have never liked the remote - I have to reset every time I want to use the OSD, I sometimes have to enter commands multiple times, etc. I saw the Harmony remotes (659, 688, and 880) and was intgrigued by the Internet-based programming and seeming good...

I have a Rotel 1056 thats about to get moved out of my AV room into a closet.

The back of it has Rem in Zone/Ext and 2 IR out ports.

Does anyone know what IR equipment is compatible with these ports?

I plant to install a single IR sensor in the AV room, and...
