    Halo P3 ?

I'm looking for a low noise higher voltage output preamp to
drive my proaudio amplifiers. The specs seem to indicate
that it should work well. If you have used this product, how
does it perform when you push it to higher levels, do you
hear audible 'hiss' from the speakers from far away or is it
    clean?

What other products compete with this?

What is a good street price?

Hi, thylantyr- I've auditioned the P3 in showrooms--haven't brought it home to my house specifically. It's a very "clean" unit in sound, definitely in the market for 2-channel audiophiles, and will give you great clarity and detail at all volumes. I personally do much more multi-channel media, so I use the C1. Based on all the positive feedback and reviews the P3 has received, I'm very confident that you would be fully satisfied with the performance.

As for a good street price, you may want to contact some of the Guide sponsors using the links at the bottom, and Brent Huskins--I don't think his link's up at the bottom of the page yet. They're some of the most competitively priced Parasound dealers in the country and beyond.
