Adhesive Glue used to hold tweeter in mounts?

    Hi Folks,

I have a B&W LCR 60 center channel. I had to pull the tweeter and replace the dome because it was pushed in. The tweeter was held tightly into the plastic interlock (attached to the front housing) with some high viscosity glue. This glue was still pliable such that I could turn the tweeter out of the interlock with some effort.

Does anyone know what type of glue this is?

    Thanks

B&W Nautilus Tweeter blown adhesive failure design fault

My tweeters failed on my N802. After examining them carefully I discovered that the foam surround is stuck onto its plastic mounting, and the adhesive had failed which allowed the voice coil to come out the gaps and overheat...

    Hi all

I was hoping to start some discussion about green glue as a constrained layer damping (CLD) medium.
From my understanding it is not exactly suited for this.
I have searched this site but still have found some ambiguities.

    Adhesive for crossover components
    by Ed H
Everyone seems to hot glue crossover components to the board. Dumb question. Why isn't the same adhesive used to glue to cabs together (PL, liquid nails, etc) used to secure crossover components to the board? Sorry if this is a speaker builder 101 question...

    Super glue removal
    by Amphiprion
This is a bit OT, but I was working on an audio project the other day and managed to get some super glue on my dedicated electronics bench. This has a formica top, so I tried out some various solvents to try and get rid of it. Goo Gone, Denatured Alcohol, and Acetone were the first at bat. Acetone was...
