    AS2 subwoofer Spec Question

Anybody know the distortion ratings of the AS-2 sub at 90db 1metre?
Can't see it on the mini theatre poop sheet.

The AS2 is the same thing as the ASW600, the only differences are cosmetic, so if you can find it there you'll have it.

      20% from 20hz to 30hz.
Under 10% above that, more than 40% below that.
(Not factoring in room again or room distortion.)

RB 985 DIN power spec versus more widely accepted measurement methods.
        by gp4Jesus
The Rotel RB 985* manual lists a “DIN 4 ohm” power spec @ 220 Watts. How does that compare to its 100 X 5 WPC RMS, all channels driven, into 8 ohms? That is, anyone care to guess at a 4 ohm rating for this amp*?

I googled DIN. The article suggests (my words) a DIN rating comes off...

        Harmonic Distortion

Harmonic distortion refers to the presence of additional frequency components in the output audio that are multiples (harmonics) of the input signal frequency. It occurs when a loudspeaker driver introduces unintended changes to the original signal, resulting in the generation of harmonic frequencies that were not present in the source material. Harmonic distortion can degrade sound quality, introduce coloration, and affect the accuracy of sound reproduction. There...

        Distortion

Distortion refers to any unwanted alteration or modification of the original audio signal as it is reproduced by the loudspeaker. It manifests as changes in the waveform or frequency response of the reproduced sound, leading to a degradation in audio quality and accuracy. There are various causes of distortion in loudspeakers, including:
        • Nonlinearities in Driver Response: Loudspeaker drivers, such as woofers, tweeters, or mid-range drivers, may exhibit nonlinear behavior

The Most Important Spec for Amps for B&Ws
        by Kobus
Currently going through a sudden costly upgrade, I think the single most misunderstood spec for "our" speakers are the following that is quoted from the B&W website. I am not talking about all of you that knows it already, you are the 1% minority.

        Quoted from the B&W...

        Driver distortion testing... strange results?
        by Undefinition
I have recently started getting into distortion testing of drivers (specifically, harmonic distortion)... not so much for just "consumer research" (I think Zaph and Mark K have that area pretty well covered), but more so I can find "problem spots" in a driver's passband.
