    In-Ceiling Speakers and Ceiling Boxes

    I am going to be installing some ceiling speakers in my house, which is undergoing a full renovation. However, I will wire all the rooms, and probably only buy speakers for the kitchen and living rooms.

    What do these B&W boxes that go in the ceiling do? Can I make them myself, or put in cross pieces between the joists?

      I purchased 6 pair of B&W CCM-650 on Ebay, and really cant spend the money on the b&W boxes which go in the ceiling.

      I was thinking I at least need to box off the joists in the ceiling. But should I throw some insulation in, or line the box with something?
