Hello Forum,
I´m rather newish here but I´m lurking since approximately 15 months.
Also I´m from Germany, so please forgive my average English ops:
May I begin with some experience I´ve made shortly:
As a 803s/805s/HTM3S/ASW825-owner, which are currently driven by
a Denon 2805 (used as "pre") and Rotel RMB1075 (5-ch-power-amp),
I´ve been at my hifi-dealer some days ago to find out what high-end-amplifier
would satisfy my needs for a better stereo-performance.
I´ve been hearing
- Accuphase E308
- T&A V10
- Classé CAP2100
My experiences:
Because I´m listening mostly to all kind of electronic-music, I´ve been concentrating
to the bass-performance in general.
And the Accuphase did everything just right. Drums have been kicking and
were rather dry, just as it should be.
The T&A was not my kind of amp when it comes to kicking drums. The bass
was rather blurry.
The Classé is really a great looking amp, with all the technical whistles and
touchscreen and what not. 8O
But the bass was more then it should be, everything in the listening-room
was vibrating, which did not happen with the other two amps.
So, my decision was: Accuphase.
The only problem I have now: The price 8O
It´s more than I´m willing to afford right now.
Now my question:
Does anybody have made some experiences with some "older" Accuphase-models,
like E305, E405 on B&W-speakers?
Is the bass-control of the older models comparable with the rather newish
E308?
The E308 is called rather "analytic" and what I´ve heard the E405 should be
more "warm". Is this true? Do they sound completely different?
Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers from Germany,
Guenther
