Cellophane is not plastic? Cellophane that "krinkles" should be thrown in trash. You know the stuff that typically wraps boxes just as a moisture barrier until we get it home. It is biodegradable and usually biodegrades 90 days after being buried. Plastic wrap of course is plastic, if it doesn't krinkle.
There are probably some plastics used for this too, that are recyclable. The krinkle factor is the key.
Also, food plastics that have been contaminated, add to the cost of recycling, and some may not be recyclable at all, FYI.
I'd tend to drop the cleaner food plastics in, and drop the dirtier ones in the trash.
