She has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and can no longer sing. So sad. How many female singers today could tackle Roy Orbison's Blue Bayou an raise the hair on the back of your neck. I still own several of her LPs. What a voice.

Sad, indeed.
I too, share your opinion of her interpretation of the Roy Orbison song, & many, many more.
Other sad news this week was the passing of Marian McPartland, host of NPR's 'Piano Jazz'.

Linda Ronstadt is a living legend. Her performances of quite a few songs are among the greatest ever by anyone. Although she has suffered the loss for eight years, it is still sad news that she can no longer sing. I just hope that other aspects of her life allow a degree of happiness for her.

Below are a couple of photos of Linda aged 23 when she appeared on the Johnny Cash Show. To my eyes she is a picture of absolute loveliness. When you watch the DVD it's obvious that Johnny thought so too. Johnny's wife was quite upset when she noticed that Linda often didn't wear panties. Fear not fellow HTGuide members, I'm confident she is appropriately dressed in the photos below.
My favourite album of hers is "Simple Dreams" from 1977. Bill you'll be pleased to hear that I have it on vinyl. On that album her version of "Tumbling Dice" by Mick Jagger & Keith Richards is nothing short of superb. When I play that song for friends I favour Linda's version over the Rolling Stones' version.
I hope things work out OK for you Linda.
