      Hello John,

I read the article last week- it was very thorough, well researched, and well put together!

As if I'm in any position to know enough to even comment! :W

Now, how about some benchmark audio comparisons of DVD-A players? Or did I miss that somehow? (it was a hectic week last week).

      Best regards,

      Jon

          Thanks guys.

          George,

I can only say for the parts I authored, "a lot". I don't even have an exact number of hours, but was > 30 between research, writing, rewriting, polishing and fact checking with various and sundry sources.

Then our poor editor had to make all of our copy look good -- having seen the input and the output, he earns his pay

          Jon,

We captured some statistical data, but at this time, the standardized tools to benchmark DVD-Audio performance don't exist. We're stuck testing with redbook CD for this benchmark, but hopefully for 2002, we'll be able to gather more data.

Of course now the Editor-in-Chief has issued a challenge to us. Do an article just as good on SACD.

          Regards,

I found some new equipment reviews today on the Secrets of Home Theater Site. Interesting stuff. Overall positive, as always. Jason overloaded his power conditioners with the mighty, mighty JC1 amplifiers, which I found funny. Here's what he had to say when he reconnected one to the power source....
