    Summer HT Usage

I do not use my home theater as much in the summer months as I do the rest of the year. In my part of the country, you're lucky to get three months of summer and sunshine, and I don't like to waste any of that sitting in a darkened room. I'm sure those of you in more southern climes are not affected by seasonal HT use, but what about others like me ?
BTW, I usually make up for lack of use once the summer ends, and use the theater almost daily for the first few weeks of Fall/Winter, then gradually settle in to a normal pattern, which for me is about three or four movies a week.

Well, you guys have to enjoy those 2 days you call Summer up there in Canuck country, lol.

Here it's nice weather from March-April through Oct-Nov. Two worse months, Jan and Feb. March sometimes is worse than Feb though, go figure.

Summer, if it wasn't for my business would see as much movies as winter almost. Here, we seek refuge from the scorching humidities with 90ish temps for months. You know when your legs sweat, your hot. lol. That's if your just drinking coffee outside early in the morning. If your mowing at 11:00-8:00 PM, your drenched for most of a 4 month period.

My usage goes up in the summer...I HATE the summers down here. As a left coaster I just can't get use to this humidity, it is murder.
So from the middle of June to the middle of Sept. I'm in the house by 11am and usually stay there until about 4 or 5pm.
Spring, Fall and Winter here are very nice, that's when my HT usage drops!

          Lex and Kenny-
I hope you guys have airconditioning in your HTs.Since my HT was built in my basement, with the windows sealed off, it is usually quite cool down there. Stays that way pretty much throughout the summer, except on those few humid 90 degree days we get during July & August, where the temp then goes up to about 75 or so in the HT.

I know that I have sat in a 90 plus degree room here in the Big Easy. I must admit, it is more enjoyable now that I have central air!

As far as summer usage, mine is about the same as the cooler months.

Yeah, summer is "off season" for the Patz Catz home theater. But a lot of that has to do with the fact that summer is short in NH, very busy, and it's the "on season" for the Patz Catz backyard in-ground swimming pool!

But when the weather gets cold, the HT gets center stage in our house. Well, that, and the wood stove.

My usage falls apart in the spring..when it gets beautiful outside I can't bear to be inside...yard work and just plain sunshine lure me outdoors..but by summer it is a good escape during the muggy heat of the day, and in winter just good anytime. So i suspect my lowest ebb is Mar-May.
