    Jazz in Philly WJJZ

    Hello All,

    We lost our major jazz station in Philly. WJJZ 106.9 is gone. Anyone have any news about situation.

      June, sorry to hear that. Did you have any notice or was it one of those things where you go to the station and - surprise - it's playing Ukranian folk songs? :nonod:

          Wow, this is a sad day. I grew up in philadelphia. I'm really sorry to hear that it is no more.

              Use to love that station when I lived in the Philly area. That sucks for Philly...

              Now that I have Sirius Satellite, I don't listen to much FM radio.

                  Yeah, what the hell happened? I even have the alarm clock set to 106.1 to rise to some great music. Next thing you know me & my wife are listening to Whoopie Goldberg!!!!!! What the F^&*&^%$$ is that all about? We never heard it coming just bam - Whoopie's here in your bedroom. It's a sad day for us Philly jazz listeners. Maybe another jazz station is just on the horizon. Let's keep our fingers crossed & our ears open.
