There shouldn't be any loss. Audio files are not that complex nor, in FLAC, all that large. If your gear is up to date (and your receiver qualifies at the very least--don't know about the rest but I presume so), you should have no issues at all.
I currently have my FLAC collection on a hard drive attached to my computer. The computer is connected to my Denon 4311 through a ethernet connection so I can play it through my home stereo. Is this the best option to get the highest quality sound? What are some others? I use Serviio on my PC.
My thought it this connection runs from my computer - to the router -then to the 4311. There has to be some loss there!
