In a press release dated today (June 4), Sony announced that a firmware relase will be available next week that enables the BDP-S1 to decode the new Dolby Digital Plus & Dolby True HD audio codecs! This is awesome news for those of us who took the plunge into blu-ray with the 'faith' that the decoding would eventually be made available. See the second to last paragraph of this Sony Press Release that also announces the shipping of the new Sony BDP-S300.
