Counting Crows' song "Paved Paradise, put up a Parking Lot"

Need a bit of help, guys. I really like the mellow song that has the main phrase in the chorus of "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot". I'm pretty sure that the Counting Crows recently released this song, but I'm also thinking that this was redone, and another artist originally wrote it.

My main problem is that I don't even know what the official title is. Looking on various Counting Crows albums, I don't see any songs with titles resembling these words. Does it have another name? Which album is it on?

Also, anybody happen to know the song's history and who originally sang it?

Joni Mitchell, huh? No kidding. It looks like "Big Yellow Taxi" is on their new compilation album "Films About Ghosts" too, so maybe I'll just get that. (I don't have any CC albums) Thanks!

Big Yellow Taxi was a "hidden" track on their last studio album: Hard Candy The track isn't numbered, rather, it's attached to the last track. If you listen to the last track for a few seconds after the audio stops Big Yellow Taxi will begin.

And if you're inetersted in other recordings of the song:

AllMusic provides comprehensive music info including reviews and biographies. Get recommendations for new music to listen to, stream or own.

All Music Guide, http://www.allmusic.com/, is great for finding stuff like that. Not quite as powerful Imdb is for film, but pretty good stuff.

2001: A Space Odyssey was projected in 70mm at the Fox Theater last night in Atlanta.

Sheesh, this is what I endured to get to the Fox theater:

                    1. Pouring rain during the drive in town to the Fox.
                    2. Looking for parking in a humongous downpour, the streets were...
