    Byron Bay Music Festival 2009

It's that time of year again. Next Tuesday my wife and I will fly off to Australia with three other couples for a week of music and socialising. This year the festival has fewer big name acts than the previous two years but that's OK - I love it all.

Here's a brief write-up of the artists this year:

I've always been impressed by the quality of the audio systems at Byron Bay and I'm sure this year will be no different. Add to that the friendliness and professionalism of the event, plus the charm of Byron Bay itself, and you have the recipe for a very enjoyable week. Fingers crossed!

    Nigel.

Sounds like it will be fun. It appears to be, put together well.

I hope you guys enjoy yourselves.

Over Easter six of us headed off to Australia for the 19th Byron Bay East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival. I went last year too.

Byron Bay is a beautiful little town with a lovely beach and plenty of good restaurants and bars which we made good use of when not attending the festival....

My flights, accommodation and tickets are booked. The playing schedule is mostly complete. My favourite band of 2007 - Wilco - will be playing on the Thursday night.

I went last year and I was blown away by the excellent organisation of the event, the pleasing comfort level for the guests,...

      The Lucky Ones (2008)

I watched this film for the first time this evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. I even shed a tear or two. I see that Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 36% rating. I don't know why it scored so poorly with the critics. Did anyone else like it? Anyway, it resonated with me.

      The cast of this film...

Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, Crowded House, Buddy Guy, Al Di Meola, Peter Green, Dr John, Béla Fleck, Justin Townes Earle - yes, they're all going to be at Byron Bay next Easter. I've bought my tickets and I'm waiting with dread for the misery to begin.
